Hello! I’m Kalpit Veerwal, the JEE topper who scored 360/360 in JEE Main and went on to crack JEE Advanced, now running AcadBoost to help students like you. After taking the JEE Advanced exam, the next big step is checking your result. About 2.5 lakh students qualify for this exam every year, and I’ve been there—waiting for my scores. I’ll explain everything about the JEE Advanced result in an easy way—how to check it, when it comes out, and what it means for you.

"Your JEE Advanced result decides if you’ll make it to an IIT—let’s understand it!" — Kalpit Veerwal
The JEE Advanced result is your score from the exam run by the IITs. It’s the second big test after JEE Main, and only the top 2.5 lakh students from Main can take it. The result comes out online and shows how you did in Physics, Chemistry, and Math across two papers. It also gives you a rank that decides if you’ll get into an IIT. I checked my result and used it to join IIT Bombay—it’s a huge moment for your future.
The JEE Advanced result usually comes out about two to three weeks after the exam. The test happens once a year—usually in May or June—and the result follows soon after. The IITs share answer keys first so you can guess your score, then the final result goes up on their official website. I waited for mine too—it’s normal to feel a mix of excitement and nerves!
Checking your result is simple. Go to the official website at jeeadv.ac.in. Look for the link that says “JEE Advanced Result” or “Candidate Portal.” You’ll need your registration number, date of birth, and phone number to log in—keep those handy. Once you’re in, your result will show up on the screen with your marks and rank. Download it and save it—you’ll need it for admission. I checked mine this way and saw my path to IIT open up—yours is next!
Your JEE Advanced result has a few key parts. It shows your marks for Paper 1 and Paper 2—usually out of 180 to 306 marks total, depending on the year. You’ll also see your rank, which is your position among all the students who took the exam. There’s a cutoff too—if your score is above it, you can get into an IIT. Only about 10,000 to 15,000 students make it each year. My rank got me into IIT Bombay—it’s all about where you stand.
Once you get your JEE Advanced result, the next step is admission. If your rank is good enough—above the cutoff—you can join the counseling process called JoSAA. This is where you pick your IIT and course based on your rank. If you don’t make the cutoff, your JEE Main score can still get you into NITs or other colleges. I used my result to pick IIT Bombay—it’s your chance to choose your future.
After you check your result, save a copy—it’s important for counseling. If your rank is high, start looking at IIT options and prepare for JoSAA—AcadBoost’s free notes can help you brush up. If it’s not what you hoped, don’t give up—you can use your Main score or try again next year. I practiced hard before my result, and it paid off—keep pushing no matter what.
Your JEE Advanced result is a big deal—it shows how close you are to an IIT. Check it online, understand it, and plan your next steps. My AcadBoost blog has more tips and free stuff to guide you. You’ve got this—start today!
