The month of December is quite crucial for a class 12th student since the JEE Main – January attempt is round the corner along with the Board exams(theory and practical). Wrapping up with these, brings to the table JEE Main-April attempt, state entrances, BITSAT and JEE Advanced. Planning, proper scheduling and executing is of sheer importance in this time, without which it is easy to get lost.
What to focus on?
It is possible that from the moment you entered Class 11, your only desire was to grab a prestigious IIT seat. However the harsh reality is that out of the 10 lac JEE aspirants only about 10,000 can secure admission in IIT. So this is the proper time to keep your head down, be practical and crack the JEE Main-January attempt with a fabulous score. So for the month of December you should brush up NCERT thoroughly and perfect your preparation using a revision tool such as rank booster( check out AcadBoost JEE Main Crash Course, positively reviewed by several students in their preparation ).
Post JEE Main January examination
Immediately after January attempt, you should cover English and other non-PCM subjects in your Board examination. You need to get refreshed after your JEE Main examination, so you can utilise this period by going through the English passages. This serves both the purposes. After the result of January attempt is declared, you shall be in a better position to channel your efforts. If you are getting more than 200 marks, then you can also start solving JEE Advanced questions apart from continuing preparation for Boards and JEE Main April attempt. However if you are scoring less than 150 marks, it is high time to focus on your weaknesses and prepare accordingly. Identify your strengths and play to them accordingly. Sticking to this plan would ensure that even though you do not land up in IIT, you can secure admission to an NIT or IIIT or BITS.
